Become the Person You’re Meant to Be

Two of the most important questions you will ever be asked in your life are:

1. Have you found the opportunity that will take care of you and your family for the rest of your life?

If your answer is no, then:

2. Are you spending time, every week, looking for that opportunity?

When I was first asked these questions, my answer to both were a disheartening ‘no’. Although I had recently graduated from a respectable college and had obtained what I had thought was my dream job, I knew I had a greater destiny. I did not want to live the life university prepared me for, which was to work in a cubicle from 8-5, go home to crack a beer and watch TV until bed. I made the decision to create my own curriculum and to live an extraordinary life by committing to continuous education on personal development, success and financial freedom.

The entire wealth of human knowledge is at our fingertips. We are able to learn anything we want to learn, in order to achieve any goals we wish to achieve, with no limitations. So why are there so many homeless and unemployed? Why are there so many unsuccessful, depressed people? There is a common flaw in the character of most of these people. That common flaw is a lack of vision.

Without a clear vision of where you want to be in the future, you will be stuck in the past… under utilizing the present. However, a vision without a timeline is just a dream. In order to bring your dreams to fruition, you must choose a specific date upon which your dreams are to be fulfilled. The dimension of time turns dreams into goals. Without goals to motivate you to press on through your mistakes, to learn from your failures, and to give you a sense a purpose, what do you have? While having goals that you are passionate about is critical, if they do not bring you financial sustenance they are not complete. If there is no money doing the specific thing that you love, you must find something related to what you love that will provide the monetary gains necessary to provide for you and your family.

Once you determine your ultimate goal, you need to break it down into manageable tasks. Each day, you need to ensure that you have taken at least one small step towards that goal. When you accomplish a task, albeit a minor task, there is an emotional response of gratification which is the fundamental constituent of happiness. Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks are essential, as they provide your subconscious with the fuel required to persevere no matter what.

“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”

Never stop learning. Never waste time. Turn your car into a university on wheels. Listen to audio programs, lectures and podcasts that relate to your passions. Watch documentaries and read non-fiction testimonials instead of watching television and reading fictional stories. Develop a passion for growth, and a desire for wealth. Imagine no limitations on what you can be, have, or do. Make your life a masterpiece.
